On April 13th, Li Hongjun, Secretary of the CPC Nanchang Municipal Committee, went to Nanchang High-tech Zone to investigate the development of industries.
The Nanchang Laboratory mainly engages in the research and development of high-end LED equipment MOCVD and new technologies for LED epitaxy and chips. It won the first prize of the National Technological Invention Award in 2015 with its silicon substrate LED project. The start-up area of the laboratory is located on the shore of the Ganjiang River and beside the Aixi Lake, while the development area is on the Yaohu Science Island in Nanchang. It will form a pattern of “one core, multiple points and N bases”. The project features a research and development center building, a comprehensive building, an industrial incubation building, etc., and is currently undergoing comprehensive decoration. Li Hongjun inspected the project construction on the spot and had an in-depth exchange with Jiang Fengyi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Director of the Nanchang Laboratory, to learn in detail about the project construction progress, functional layout, and the planning and construction of the road network of Yaohu Science Island. Li Hongjun encouraged the Nanchang Laboratory to give full play to its role as a major sci-tech innovation platform, actively plan for the industry, attract more innovative enterprises to settle in, accelerate the aggregation of various innovative elements, and continuously enhance the platform[s level. We should continue to increase investment in scientific research, strengthen cooperation among industry, academia and research institutions, target the strategic demands of the country and the development needs of Nanchang, intensify efforts to break through key core technologies, accelerate the transformation of scientific research achievements, promote the conversion of scientific research achievements into real productive forces, cultivate and develop new quality productive forces, strive to shape new advantages and release new driving forces, and accelerate the formation of new economic growth points.
